Fred attended the Whisky Schiff 2009 in Zurich to promote BIG PEAT and Douglas of Drumlanrig Single Cask Bottlings.

During his Asia trip, Fred spent a couple of days in Japan where he had an exclusive tasting of a variety of Port Ellen casks as well as introducing BIG PEAT to the Japanese palate.

There was also Fred's bar which was themed with the history of 60 years of Douglas Laing & Co and the long business relationship and friendship with JIS.

A very intimate venue, the Guild Hall in York. Eddie Ludlow, Whisky Evangelist, organised this Whisky festival in conjunction with the Food Fair. Over 200 visitors came to visit us to try some of the Malts we brought with us. Favorites of the day included Big Peat, Double Barrel and Port Ellen.

We all thoroughly enjoyed this year’s Whisky Live Glasgow. After we missed last year in the SECC we decided to join again in the new venue in the centre of Glasgow. Launching BIG PEAT in the UK, it received great interest from the visitors of the festival and it proved to be a great success.

Also our other vatted malts of the new DOUBLE BARREL range and our single malts in OLD MALT CASK and PROVENANCE proved to be very successful. Particularly the LITTLEMILL from our OLD & RARE bottling was an eye opener as not many people had tasted Littlemill before.

5-7 September 2009
This year was the first time I attended the Kopenicker Whisky Herbst. I had already heard a lot of stories about it, so my expectations of this outdoor festival were high. The festival certainly lived up to it. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the weather turned out to be fine.
